Took some time to prep a few lessons this morning which tends to work as the kids just want screen time first thing. Also decided to go with the flow regarding timing rather than sticking to schedule.

The lessons (French, English and History) were fun but would've benefitted from more prep. The loose schedule was helpful but meant we didn't fit everything I'd planned into the day.

Note to self: ask more experienced home schoolers how they manage to incorporate socialising with the children's peers, how often and whether they have equivalent holiday and half-term breaks.

Today, we left the house for the first time in three days for some exercise and fresh air which definitely improved their concentration.

One key observation I've made is the kids' communication skills and behaviour to one another has improved vastly. Dont get me wrong, they're still at sibling war! But there are many more words of kindness and support to each other.

I can't deny, it has been hard work so far and I'm in need of a change. So tomorrow we will work on a whole day geography project which we can dip in and out of.

We'll get there in the end!
